Step 4 (iOS) - Set up a device

On each device, you need to activate the subscription and use Quickpair to link the device to your Cloud.

Activate Subscription on a device

1.    On a device, open the Evidence for Learning App.

2.    Tap the Cog icon (top left on iOS Devices and top right on Android devices)

3.    Tap  Activate Subscription

4.    Type in a Device ID and Device Key (case sensitive) , each device must use a unique Device ID.

The Device IDs and Device Keys will have been emailed to you in your welcome email.

5.    Select  Activate

Quickpair device to your Cloud:

You will need to Pair your device with your cloud.

When you are setting up a device for the first time that has not been used for Evidence for Learning before you can Quick Pair.

1.    If you are sill on the Device Admin screen go to step 2. If you are on the screen with the animated stars and the word "Capture" Tap the  Cog icon (top left on iOS Devices and top right on Android devices)

2.    Tap  QuickPair this Device

3.     Enter the QuickPair passphrase (this will have been emailed to you in your welcome email)

4.    Tap  QuickPair 

You should then see a Device Paired Message that tells you that your device is now paired to the cloud.

If in the future, you need to pair a device that has previously been used with the Evidence for Learning App and therefore, there may be draft evidence on the device that has not yet been uploaded to the Cloud then you would manually pair the device.

Here are the steps to add Groups of Learners to my device:

1. Tap on the Cog (top left).

2. Tap on Groups (below system data).

3. Tap on the + (top right).

4. Tap on the groups that you want to add to the device. A tick will indicate that they have been selected.

5. Tap Save (top right)

To remove a Group, swipe left on the name and Tap Delete.

Here are the steps to add individual learners to your device:

1.    Go to Settings (gear icon, top left)

2.    Tap on Learners (below system data)

3.    Tap on the + (top right)

4.    You can now tap on all the Learners that you wish to add to this device. A tick will indicate that they have been selected.

If you want to add all the Learners in the cloud to your device, you can simply tap on the empty box next to Multi-select (top right) and all the students will be selected

5.    When you have selected all the Learners that you want to add to this device Tap Save (top right)

To remove a learner, swipe left on their name and Tap Delete.

Here are the steps to add a Framework to your device from your Cloud:

1.   Go to Settings (gear icon, top left)

2.    Scroll down to Frameworks (under System Data)

3.    Tap +(top right)

4.    You can now tap on all the Frameworks that you wish to add to this device from your Cloud. Once selected a tick will appear to the right of the framework.

Helpful Tips:    If you pick a Framework by mistake, to de-select it Tap on the name of the Framework again

5.    When you have selected all the Frameworks that you want to add to this device Tap Save (top right)

Here are the steps to add date ranges to my device:

1.    Go to Settings (gear, top left)

2.    Scroll down to Date Ranges (under System Data)

3.    Tap + (top right)

4.    You can now tap on all the Date Ranges that you wish to add to this device from your Cloud. A tick will indicate that they have been selected.

5.    When you have selected all the Date Ranges that you want to add to this device Tap Save (top right)

Here are the steps to add Tags to my device:

1.    Go to Settings (gear icon, top left)

2.    Scroll to Tags (under System Data)

3.    Tap +(top right)

4.    You can now tap on all the Tags that you wish to add to this device from your Cloud. When you have selected a Tag a tick will appear to the right of its name.

Helpful Tip:      If you want to add all the Tags that are in the Cloud to your device you can simply tap on the empty box next to Multi-select (top right) and all the Tags will be selected

5.    When you have selected all the Tags that you want to add to this device Tap Save (top right)

Here are the steps to help add your Common Templates to my device:

1.    Go to Settings (the gear icon, top left)

2.    Scroll down to Comments Templates (under System Data)

3.    Tap + [select the Comment Template required]

4.    You can now tap on all the Common Templates that you wish to add to this device from your Cloud. Once selected a tick will appear to the right of the Common Template.

5.    When you have selected all the Date Ranges that you want to add to this device Tap Save (top right)
