Step 4 (Android) - Set up a Device

On each device, you need to activate the subscription and use Quickpair to link the device to your Cloud.

Activate Subscription on a device: 

1. On a device, open the Evidence for Learning App.

2. Tap the Cog icon (top right)

3. Tap Activate Subscription

4. Type in a Device ID and Device Key (case sensitive) , each device must use a unique Device ID.

The Device IDs and Device Keys will have been emailed to you in your welcome email.

5. Select Activate

Quickpair device to your Cloud: 

You will need to Pair your device with your cloud.

When you are setting up a device for the first time that has not been used for Evidence for Learning before you can Quick Pair.

1. If you are sill on the Device Admin screen go to step 2. If you are on the screen with the animated stars and the word "Capture" Tap the Cog icon (top right)

2. Tap QuickPair this Device

3. Enter the QuickPair passphrase (this will have been emailed to you in your welcome email)

4. Tap QuickPair

You should then see a Device Paired Message that tells you that your device is now paired to the cloud.

If in the future, you need to pair a device that has previously been used with the Evidence for Learning App and therefore, there may be draft evidence on the device that has not yet been uploaded to the Cloud then you would manually pair the device.

Here are the steps to add Groups of Learners to your device:

1. Go to Device Admin by Tapping on the  Cog (top right).

2. Tap on  Groups (below system data).

3. Tap on the  + (top right).

4. Tap on the  groups that you want to add to the device. Selected groups will be highlighted 

You can Select All (top right) if you want to add all the Groups that are in your Cloud to the device.

5. Tap Add (top right)

To remove a group, swipe left on it and Tap Remove.

6. To return to Device Admin Tap the back arrow (top left).

Here are the steps to add individual learners to your device:

1.    Go to Device Admin by Tapping on the  Cog (top right).

2.    Tap on  Learners (below system data).

3.    Tap on the  + (top right)

4.    You can now tap on all the Learners that you wish to add to your device. Selected groups will be highlighted 

You can Select All (top right) if you want to add all the Learners that are in your Cloud to the device.

5.    Tap  Add (top right)

To remove a learner, swipe left on their name and Tap Remove.

6. To return to Device Admin, Tap the  back arrow (top left).

Here are the steps to add Frameworks to your device:

1.    Go to Device Admin by Tapping on the  Cog (top right).

2.    Tap on   Frameworks (below system data).

3.    Tap on the   + (top right)

4.    You can now tap on all the  Frameworks that you want to add to your device. Selected Frameworks will be highlighted 

You can Select All (top right) if you want to add all the Frameworks that are in your Cloud to the device.

5.    Tap   Add (top right)

To remove a learner, swipe left on the name and Tap Remove.

6. To return to Device Admin, Tap the   back arrow (top left).

Here are the steps to add Date Ranges to your device:

1.    Go to Device Admin by Tapping on the  Cog (top right).

2.    Tap on  Date Ranges (below system data).

3.    Tap on the  + (top right)

4.    Tap on all the Date Ranges that you want to add to your device. Selected Date Ranges will be highlighted 

You can Select All (top right) if you want to add all the Date Ranges that are in your Cloud to the device.

5.    Tap Add (top right)

To remove a Date Range, swipe left it and Tap Remove.

6. To return to Device Admin, Tap the back arrow (top left).

Here are the steps to add Tags to your device:

1.    Go to Device Admin by Tapping on the Cog (top right).

2.    Tap on Tags (below system data).

3.    Tap on the  + (top right)

4.    You can now tap on all the Tags that you want to add to your device. Selected Tags will be highlighted 

You can Select All (top right) if you want to add all the Tags that are in your Cloud to the device.

5.    Tap   Add (top right)

To remove a Tag, swipe left on it and Tap Remove.

6. To return to Device Admin, Tap the back arrow (top left).

Here are the steps to add Comment Templates to your device:

1.    Go to Device Admin by Tapping on the  Cog (top right).

2.    Tap on  Comment Templates.

See below...

3.    Tap on the  + (top right)

4.    You can now tap on all the  Comment Templates that you want to add to your device. Selected Comment Templates will be highlighted 

You can Select All (top right) if you want to add all the Comment Templates that are in your Cloud to the device.

5.    Tap   Add (top right)

To remove a Comment Templates, swipe left on it and Tap Remove.

6. To return to Device Admin, Tap the  back arrow (top left).
