Unable to open an Assessment Book - I am getting a continuous spinning wheel

There may a connection issue on your specific Device or there may be a problem that is specific to a particular Assessment Book.

It would be worth trying to see if you can open the Assessment Book on another iPad or by using the Web Console. If you find that you can't open the Assessment Book on other devices then please contact us for further support.

If you establish that you can open the Assessment Book on another iPad then it would indicate that it may be a connection issue that is connected to the particular iPad and here are some quick steps to try to resolve the problem.

Check that you have updated to the latest version of the app

- Go to the PlayStore to see if the app needs updating, it is important that you update it rather than uninstalling and re-installing the app.

Check that you are connected to the internet

- It is worth double checking that you are connected to the internet. You can do checking that you can successfully access a web page.

Check the Firewall Settings

Can you ask the team that manage the firewall/proxy to disable/clear caching and allow traffic for ports 80 and 443 for the following domains.


*.theteachercloud.net

*.evidenceforlearning.net

*.s3.amazonaws.com

1) Tap Refresh

- From the Homescreen of the App with the word "Capture" and the animated stars, Tap on the Cog (top left)

- Tap Refresh (top right)

2) Force Close the App

- Tap the home button twice or swipe up to display all the Apps that are open.

- Swipe up on Evidence for Learning to Force Close the App

- Reopen the App

Try and open the Assessment Book again and if it still does not work.

3. Tap the Evidence Icon (in the middle 3 Icons) underneath the animated stars and the word "Capture".

7. Ensure that you have the Filters set to be searching 'The Cloud' and all other Filters set to 'All' and then Tap Apply (top right).

9. The Evidence may be displayed correctly or you may see a spinning wheel that continues to Spin.

Now Force Close the Evidence for Learning App by Tapping on the device's home button twice quickly and then you will see all the Apps that are currently open on the device. 

Swipe Evidence for Learning off the screen.

10. Open the Evidence for Learning App.

Try and open the Assessment Book again.
