Introduction to EfL Forms
EfL Forms is an optional add-on to your regular EfL subscription that allows you to create custom online forms within EfL. These can be accessed and updated by specified users across your setting.
Examples of how EfL Forms are being used include:
- Developing student/pupil profiles – such as ‘learner on a page’ or ‘pen portraits, wellbeing profile, communication profile, sensory profile, engagement profile and others
- Producing rich and comprehensive end of period reports (eg end of term, assessment cycles…)
- Checklists and other documents that support the Annual Review process
- Behaviour and other support plans
You can quickly and easily create a variety of form templates that can be used to produce a variety of profiles, reports and forms for different learners (such as those noted above). You can also create templates that aren’t linked to specific learners eg ‘curriculum on a page’ forms for different areas of your school’s curriculum. To help you get started there are some preset templates that you can use or adapt.
EfL Forms can be configured to automatically link to evidence that relates to the form contents, strengthening their impact. This brings the written notes alive, showing exactly what the content of the form looks like eg showing what, for example, a pupil looks like when they are engaged in learning, happy…and the environment in which this happens.
They have been designed to provide a collaborative workspace to capture the input from a variety of stakeholders eg including information from home within a transition review. They are a useful tool to support co-production.
Version tracking allows you to review and compare how forms have changed over time eg comparing student profiles between two dates, evidencing the learning that has taken place that is usually hidden when kept as paper copies.
Forms can be exported as PDFs along with any associated and linked evidence. These can then be used, for example, as reports, as additional information to be sent home to parents, as part of Annual Review paperwork….
Here’s a video that gives an overview of EfL Forms, including editing Form templates, creating new Forms, creating PDFs of Forms, comparing different versions of a Form (how it’s changed over time) and a range of examples of Forms used in schools.
