Web Console: Create a PDF that contains the Learner's Evidence

You can use the Web Console to create a PDF that contains a Leaner's Evidence and you can choose to include the Tags / Framework links / Indicator Spider Charts / Indicator Table Data.

Step 1: Create a PDF template and choose to include the Tags, Framework Links, Indicator Spider Charts and / or the Indicator Table Data.

Step 2a: Use the PDF temple to create a PDF for 1 Learner

Step 2b: Use the PDF template to create a PDF for each leaner in a class on once

Optional Step 3: Share the PDF with parents / carers through the EfL Family App

How can I create a PDF that includes the specially chosen pieces of Evidence for a Learner and include a teacher comment / headteacher comment?


Step 1
    Create a PDF template that contains the Learner's Evidence and choose whether to include the Indicator Spider Charts and / or the Indicator Table Data
1.    Login to the Web Console  (  https://web.evidenceforlearning.net/efl/login/). 
2.    Click Documents (top left)

3.    Click Make PDF (towards top right).

4.    Click My PDF Templates (towards top right)

5.    Click  Create PDF Templates (towards top right)

6.    Choose the Properties of PDF Template.
Example:
  • PDF per Learner
  • Template Name: "Learning Journal (Main) with Indicator Chart & Table
  • PDF Title: "Learning Journey"
  • Font: System
  • Font Size: Medium
  • Page Size: A4

7.    Scroll down and select the Contents, Displaying Evidence and whether you want the PDF Template to be available just to you or for all users.

Example:

  • Include a title page
  • A new page per piece of Evidence
  • Include Tags
  • Include Framework (links)
  • Include Indicator Table Data
  • Indicator Spider Charts

To include Indicator Table Data ensure the switch is on (green and to the right)

To include Indicator Spider Charts ensure the switch is on (green and to the right)

7.    Scroll down and Click Save (bottom left) to save the PDF Template.

The PDF Template has now been created and is ready to use.


Step 2a
    Use a PDF template to create a PDF that contains a Learner's Evidence
1.    Login to the Web Console  (  https://web.evidenceforlearning.net/efl/login/). 
2.    Click Documents (top left)

3.    Click Make PDF (towards top right).

4.    Select a PDF template from the drop-down list. 

Then select the criteria for the evidence to include in your PDF. Select the Group

You can arrange the resulting evidence either in date order (ascending or descending) or group it under specific tags.

When you have made your selections Click Next (towards top right)

5.    The Evidence that meets your filter criteria will then be displayed. If you don't want to include a specific piece of Evidence in the PDF, Tap on it so that it becomes grey.
To create the PDF Click  Make PDF (top right)

6.    The PDF will then be in the process of being created and a "Please Wait" message will be displayed.

7.    Once the PDF has been created the PDF it will be displayed at the bottom of the screen. 

You can click on the name of the PDF to open it.

8.    Once the PDF opens you will be able to review it.

Step 2b
    Use the PDF template to create a PDF for each leaner in a class on once
1.    Login to the Web Console  (  https://web.evidenceforlearning.net/efl/login/). 
2.    Click Documents (top left)

3.    Click Make PDF (towards top right).

4.    Select a PDF template from the drop-down list. 

Then select the criteria for the evidence to include in your PDF. 

Note: In the example below, I used a Date Range to only include the Evidence gathered during a specific Academic Year. Click next the box to the right of Group and select the appropriate Class.

You can arrange the resulting evidence either in date order (ascending or descending) or group it under specific tags.

When you have made your selections Click Next (towards top right)

5.    The Evidence that meets your filter criteria will then be displayed for each Learner. If you don't want to include a specific piece of Evidence in the PDF, Tap on it so that it becomes grey.
To create the PDF Click  Make PDF (top right)

.    The PDF will then be in the process of being created and a message will be displayed to confirm they will soon appear in the documents screen shortly.

.    Once the PDFs have been created they will be displayed at the bottom of the Documents screen. Depending on the amount of Evidence in each PDF it may take a couple of minutes for the PDFs to be created and appear in the list.

Navigate to the 'Documents' Screen, you can filter by Group - Click Search, scroll down and you will see that a PDF has been created for each Learner.

Once the PDFs have been created, they will be displayed in a list and you can click on the name of one of the PDFs to open it.

.    Once the PDF opens you will be able to review it.

Close the PDF, navigate back to the Documents Screen and you can click on the name of another Learner's PDF to review it.

Optional Step 3
    Share the PDF with parents / carers through the EfL Family App
1.    Login to the Web Console  (  https://web.evidenceforlearning.net/efl/login/). 
2.    Click Documents (top left)

3.    You can filter by Group, Cohort or Learner - Click Search, scroll down and you will see the PDFs that met the search criteria.

To share the PDF with Families or Carers through the EfL Family App, Click the appropriate greyed out Share icon to the right of the PDF.

Once the PDF has been set to be shared with Parents / carers the Shared Icon will become illuminated red.
